| Supplier Diversity |
| |
| Hilton Worldwide is committed to cultivating the economic
vitality of the communities in which we conduct our business. We believe that encouraging the growth and
development of diverse suppliers will enhance the economic vitality of our communities. |
| |
| Our vision is to forge supplier relationships that reflect the culture diversity of these
communities. It is the policy of Hilton Worldwide to actively encourage diverse suppliers
who provide quality products at competitive pricing, to participate in our contracting and subcontracting activities. |
| |
| Hilton’s commitment is rooted in the belief that by establishing effective business relationships with new
and diverse suppliers, we will maintain our leadership role in the global marketplace and create a multitude of
benefits for our customers, team members, shareholders and the communities in which we live and work. |
| |
| The foundation of an effective supplier diversity program is a sound measure of current diverse
spending. Such a benchmark allows goal setting against overall spending and the availability of quality
goods and services from woman-owned and minority-owned businesses (WMBEs). The system in place at Hilton
Worldwide provides such a foundation. Our ongoing efforts include mechanisms to encourage all women-owned
and minority-owned suppliers to take the steps necessary to become part of our evolving supplier base. |
| |
| Through HW’s Supplier Diversity program, we develop strategic alliances with companies whose culture and
values are consistent with ours focusing on Value, Quality, Service, Business Stability, and Business Practices.
HW Supply Management is committed the key areas of the Diversity Principle of Social Responsibility
as identified by the Institute for Supply Management (ISM). |
| |
| |
Proactively promote purchasing from, and the development of, socially diverse suppliers. |
| |
Encourage diversity within HW Supply Management and the entire corporation. |
| |
Proactively promote diverse employment practices throughout the supply chain. |
|
| |
| Who Qualifies |
| |
| For consideration under HW’s Supplier Diversity program, companies
must be owned, operated, and controlled by a member of one of the following minority groups – Women, Asian
American, African American, Hispanic American, and Native American. Ownership by minority individuals means
that the business is at least 51% owned by such individuals, or in the case of a publicly-owned business, at
least 51% of the stock is owned by one or more such individuals. The management and daily operations must
be controlled by those minority group members. |
| |
| Additionally, HW prefers minority suppliers that have been certified by those councils that recognize
these minorities, such as the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) or the Women’s Business
Enterprise National Council (WBENC), and meet pre-determined minimum qualifications. |
| |
